In life there exists many things that complete a person and makes them happy. This is called a passion, and everyone has one, the problem is that not everyone knows how to pursue them. Ever since I was young, I knew my passions, which is a blessing. I knew I had an entrepreneurial mindset when I was selling gum in second grade, I knew I loved sports since I touched my first basketball, I knew I loved writing ever since I grabbed a pencil. Life has not taken it easy on me, I’ve lived in Puerto Rico all my life facing many challenges in school, sports and home; the way I can express myself and let it all go is through writing. Since I was young, I would write about my problems and just let them go, I do identify myself as a writer, and a talented one. My strengths would be adding a melodic feel to my writing and rhyming words such as poetry and music and having a creative mindset when writing. My main weakness would be writing for something I don’t want to write about, for example some academic assignments I have wrote in the past may be considered mediocre and not good because it is missing the ingredient which makes a writing perfect: passion. My goals for this semester are to grow as a writer, especially to improve my writing in English because I am used to write in Spanish. I am confident in myself and what I can achieve this semester.
